The newly renovated Hamilton Pool opened on a day of perfect weather: total sunshine, blue skies, temperatures in the upper 70's, and a light, pleasant breeze. What a great day!

The Novato City Council unanimously approved a partnership with the City of San Rafael for Aquatic Program Services for the Hamilton Pool on May 11, 2010. San Rafael will manage the aquatic programs at the site, providing swim lessons, water exercise, lap and recreation swimming and will coordinate pool rentals. San Rafael will handle all program registrations and rental reservations, collecting fees to cover the costs of pool staff and operations. Novato will perform and cover the costs of maintenance of the site, and will incur no new costs.
This is an exciting partnership between two public agencies, who have come together to support the reopening of a valued community asset. The partnership allows the City of Novato to reopen the Hamilton Pool after investing $4.5M renovating the facility, transforming it from its weathered 1930’s era condition, to a state-of-the-art pool great for instruction, deep water exercise, and recreational and rental use. The site is also home to an exciting new water play structure with a slide and lots of water spray. A shallow water pool with depths from 0” – 18” will be enjoyed by tots and children alike, and is equipped with a fun spray tunnel that even a toddler can enjoy.
