Front Desk
Front Desk volunteers greet the public and welcome people into the Center. Duties include answering phones, giving tours of the Center, signing up people for trips and special events, and clerical projects such as filing and typing. We strive to provide outstanding customer service.
Morning shift is 9am-1pm and the afternoon shift is 1pm-5pm.
Library
The MTSC librarians organize, sort and restock the MTSC library. It is usually necessary to stop by the Center to straighten the library a few times each week.
Special Event
MTSC holds special events such as lunches, dinners, picnics, barbecues, dances, flea markets, the Holiday Crafts Faire and more! Special Event volunteers will be called upon to assist with preparations before an event or for working at the event itself. Duties may include decorating, blowing up balloons, selling tickets, and preparing refreshments.
Brown Bag Food Program
The Brown Bag Food Program volunteers assist the Brown Bag Food Coordinator preparing the groceries for pick up. This program is held two times per month at the Center.
Golden Days Café
A hot balanced meal is served Monday through Friday at the Center. Golden Days Café volunteers typically work one day a week serving meals.
Margaret Todd Senior Center Flowerpots
The flowerpots outside of the Margaret Todd Senior Center need some TLC! Volunteer to weed and water plants as necessary. The Center will purchase plants needed for the flowerpots.
Yardwork Program
Sign up to volunteer for the NIEP Yardwork Program. Help low income, isolated and/or disabled seniors with weeding, raking or light pruning. Yardwork project days/times are flexible.
Home Delivered Grocery Program
Volunteers gather on Tuesday morning at the Novato Fair Safeway to shop for and then deliver groceries to homebound elderly Novato residents.
Novato Independent Elders Program Workshops
Attend NIEP workshops, check-in and greet attendees. Pass out evaluation forms. There are usually 1-2 workshops per month.
